Box village marks the southernmost tip of the Cotswolds and is a pretty and history-laden village with convenient shops, lovely walks, pubs and a great indian restaurant. Box is home to both Peter Gabriel’s Real World recording studios as well as England’s only tennis ball factory! We are just 6 miles from the World Heritage city of Bath and also very close to the historic villages of Lacock, Castle Combe, Bradford on Avon, Avebury and Corsham. Whether your interests extend to the arts, sport, food, shopping, walking, festivals or stately homes and gardens there is always plenty to do in this beautiful part of the world.

There are some wonderful walks in and around Box. We have a selection of printed route suggestions available for walkers which take in local historic sites and places of interest. These are available at Lorne House and we are happy to email these ahead to guests if required.
Local Walking Tour
Local Historian Claire Dimond-Mills has created a lovely walking tour of Box which covers the history and sights of this lovely village. Tour dates and details are listed on her website or alternatively she is happy to lead a personal tour for groups of up to 10.
