A village stay within easy reach of Bath

Visit Bath, come home to Box

Lorne House suits guests who want access to Bath with a village base. Spend time exploring the city, then return to your room or a house booked exclusively for family and friends.

Plan a day in Bath

For a first visit, consider the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, then explore the Circus and Royal Crescent. If a spa visit is part of your plans, Thermae Bath Spa is a separate experience from the Roman Baths museum. A walking tour is another way to get your bearings.

Choose the attractions that suit your party and check current admission, accessibility and booking arrangements directly. Visit Bath’s official visitor guide is a useful starting point.

Choose how you stay

Book an individually styled en-suite B&B room with breakfast included, or take all eight bedrooms for a self-catering group stay for up to 20 using the sofa bed. The two formats never operate together.

Getting into Bath

Bus stops are a short walk away on London Road. The journey from Box to Bath is approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on the stop, service and traffic. Check current timetables before travelling. Bath Spa and Chippenham are both useful railway stations, approximately seven miles away. Uber is an option, subject to availability in the app. Harry and Eliza also recommend local taxi firms for good value and timely service. Book ahead for important journeys.

A starting point for more than Bath

Bradford on Avon and Lacock are principal day-trip recommendations. Castle Combe, Corsham, Avebury, Bowood, Badminton and Bristol offer more ideas for your stay.
