Lorne House in Box, accommodation for a visit to Bath Christmas Market

Bath Christmas Market: the confirmed 2026 dates

The 2026 market runs 26 November–13 December in Bath’s historic city centre. Explore the chalets for gifts, food and drink, and combine your visit with time in Bath. Dates were checked on 6 October 2026.

Check the official Bath Christmas Market website → for current event information and journey advice. Lorne House provides accommodation; the market is a separate, third-party event.

Where to stay: a city base or a village stay?

A city-centre stay can suit visitors who want to step straight out into Bath. Staying at Lorne House suits guests who would like a base in Box and are happy to plan a journey into the city. You can spend a day at the market, add a Bath outing and use the rest of your break to explore Wiltshire.

Before booking, decide how you’ll travel back after your visit, whether you prefer B&B or self-catering, and how many people need beds. Event dates and room availability are separate: check both before fixing your plans.

B&B rooms for a festive break

Our eight en-suite bedrooms suit solo travellers, couples, friends and families. Three rooms can be arranged as triples, with a king and a single or three singles; book the room type that matches your party.

Cooked-to-order breakfast is included with B&B rates. It is served 7:30–9am on weekdays and 8–9:30am at weekends. Please tell us in advance about vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free requirements.

The whole house for your group

Bring family or friends together with exclusive whole-house accommodation. Stays are self-catering, with a minimum of two nights. Breakfast is not included.

The maximum overnight occupancy is 20 using a sofa bed; dining space is tight at that number. Speak to Harry and Eliza about your group’s bed arrangements before booking. Whole-house stays are accommodation only, with no organised events or late-night parties.

Check whole-house availability

Lorne House operates as either a B&B or an exclusive whole-house let; these uses do not run at the same time. The booking journey shows what is available for your dates.

Getting from Box to Bath Christmas Market

Plan the outward and return journeys together. The nearest bus stops are on London Road, a short walk from Lorne House. Box to Bath is approximately 20–30 minutes depending on the service, stop and traffic; allow extra time around a busy seasonal event and check current timetables, especially for your return in the evening.

If you choose a conventional taxi, book it in advance. Ask the market organiser for current city parking and travel guidance if driving. Parking at Lorne House does not include parking in Bath or an event transfer.

For a rail journey, Bath Spa and Chippenham are both useful stations, approximately seven miles from Lorne House. Arrange the final leg to Box separately. Our Contact & Find Us page has the address, map and parking details.

Normal check-in is 4–7pm. If you want to visit the market first or arrive later, contact us in advance to agree your plans. B&B checkout is 10:30am; whole-house checkout is 11am.

A two-night festive-break idea

Arrive and settle in

Check in within your agreed arrival window, then choose a local place to eat from our Food & Drink guide. Lorne House does not serve evening meals.

Spend a day in Bath

Visit the market and leave time for the city itself. Use our Bath guide to build your day, and check attraction tickets directly with the venues. Plan the return journey before setting out.

Add a Wiltshire outing

Before heading home, consider Lacock or Bradford on Avon, a Box walk or Castle Combe. Check visiting dates and leave enough time after checkout.

For other seasonal outings during your stay, see What’s On near Lorne House. Choose and book any event separately from your accommodation.
