Mike and Fran would like to offer you a warm welcome to Lorne House.
Set in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Box, Lorne House is a stylish, sophisticated Bed & Breakfast with an elegant charm and a friendly welcome. Located only five miles from the fabulous city of Bath, Lorne House is the ideal base to explore the city and its surrounding countryside, and is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing break or pleasant business trip.
Lorne House was built in 1876, extended in 1902 and, between 1920–1928, was the childhood home of the Rev. W J Awdry, author of Thomas The Tank Engine.
Your hosts, Mike and Fran, have a detailed knowledge of the local area and are happy to recommend interesting places to visit, such as the delightful villages of Lacock and Castle Coombe. They can also make reservations on your behalf at the many excellent local pubs and restaurants: in addition to the pubs in the village, Corsham is only a couple of miles away, and has several good places to eat and drink; and, of course, if you’re looking for a livelier evening, Bath is only a short distance away, and has great public transport links.
